The Analytic Scholastic
I am a philosopher focused on Neo-Aristotelian interpretations of modern physics, specializing in Bell’s theorem and the breaking of Lorentz invariance in hylomorphic models of quantum mechanics. My undergraduate training was in physics, with an emphasis on synthesizing causal finitism and paradoxes of infinity with various cosmological models to analyze the origin of the universe. My current research interests include developing Neo-Aristotelian interpretations of wavefunction collapse models, as well as formulating novel spacetime-independent causal theories to serve as foundations for cosmological metrics. I am also interested in the philosophy of religion, particularly debates concerning the existence of God, the significance of the Christian tradition—specifically the Catholic tradition—for Western philosophy, and the discussion between Classical and Neoclassical Theism. Having been born and raised in Mexico, my interests also extend to the development of Mexican philosophy, with a focus on Mauricio Beuchot’s analogical hermeneutics and Samuel Ramos’ theory of the inferiority complex.
Beyond my philosophical and scientific training, I have more than four years of experience teaching courses in Logic, Physics, Theology, and Philosophy from an interdisciplinary perspective. I have held lecturer positions at several institutions in Mexico, including: Instituto México de Ciudad Juárez (with the Marist Brothers), Instituto Diocesano de Teología de Ciudad Juárez (the diocesan Institute of Theology in Juárez, affiliated with the McGrath Institute at the University of Notre Dame), and Instituto de Filosofía San Justino Mártir (Institute of Philosophy for Laypeople in Juárez).
Education
2024 - 2025
M.A. in Philosophy
University of Texas at El Paso
I earned an M.A. degree in Philosophy after defending my thesis, "Lorentz Invariance and Quantum Coordination," at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP). This thesis proposed an original Aristotelian framework to explain quantum entanglement and how non-locality can be compatible with relativistic constraints. I graduated with the distinction of Summa cum laude and became the Graduate Student Marshal of Students in December 2025.
2017 - 2022
B.S. in Physics
Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez
I earned a B.S. in Physics from the Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad Juárez (UACJ), graduating summa cum laude with my undergraduate thesis, “A Beginning? An Analysis of the Evidence for a Temporal Origin of the Universe.” In this thesis, I synthesized Alexander Pruss’s and Robert Koons’s theories of causal finitism with various cosmological models to argue for a temporal beginning of the universe.
2019 - 2022
Studies in Philosophy
Instituto Diocesano de Teología de Ciudad Juárez
I earned a three-year certificate in Philosophy from the Instituto de Teología y Filosofía de Ciudad Juárez (IDTCJ). My studies focused primarily on Aristotelian Metaphysics, Philosophy of Nature, Relativity and Classical Theism.
